The Garage Door Ghost

When I was about eight years old, I had a neighbor named Brad. Brad had discovered a garage door opener that matched the one belonging to another neighbor. As you might imagine, secretly closing the door on top of the neighbor’s car generated hours of amusement. That’s why I had to chuckle when I read today’s San Diego Union-Tribune. Apparently, a military frequency is interfering with garage doors and making them close willy-nilly. The paper says this used to be a widespread problem around the country until the military switched frequencies. The current problem has been attributed to Navy ships using the new frequency used by most garage door manufacturers. Or perhaps, it’s just Brad, up to his old tricks.
