Pat’s Favorite Vancouver Photos

As the Vancouver 2010 Olympics wind down this weekend, I’m digging through hundreds of photos I took. Here are some of my favorites.

We visited the Whistler Sliding Centre for luge. It’s stunningly fast. So fast, that it’s one of those sports that’s better on TV than in person. (You can see a blurry competitor passing over the Olympic rings in my photo.)

The 1.3 km walk to the biathlon grandstand wasn’t so much fun with two kids who lost interest after the first hill. But it was pretty along the way.

Games officials deliver the targets to the biathlon shooting range.

There was no evidence that Siegel’s Bagels was authorized to reproduce the rings, but I loved the Olympic bagel.

The home team’s colours were everywhere.

BC Place Stadium. Home of the opening and closing ceremonies. We attended the medal presentation ceremony on February 14.

Finish line at luge.

Starting gate for biathlon. Between the competitors, the flags and the fans (top of this post) the colours at this venue were amazing.
