Pat Kiernan (or Current Occupant)

Is there something I should know? I had a nice chuckle at 4 am when I retrieved my mail at NY1 and found a publicity mailer addressed to me.

The address line says: “Anchor Pat Kiernan or Current Occupant.”

Somehow the “current occupant” phrasing doesn’t bother me when I get junk mail at home. But at work it just builds fears of vulnerability. And it cheapens the message. I can picture them saying, “We’d like you to read this, but if you’re not there will settle for anybody who sits in your old chair.”
