Pat Celebrates Frida Kahlo’s Birthday By Wasting Time on Google
Tuesday, 06 July 2010 | by Pat's Picks
Today is Frida Kahlo’s birthday. How do I know that? Because I Googled something this morning. The Internet giant decided to memorialize the Mexican artist with a special logo. It’s the latest in a series of Google related tricks that I’ve been collecting in the past few weeks. Another one of my favorites? Type the number 2204355 into Google’s search box and click ‘I’m feeling lucky’. Didn’t expect that did you? A blog post on Zimbio.com led me to other “easter eggs” searches of note. And when you tire of those, there’s a whole mess of things to play with in Google’s calculator, maps and mail.
Searching for ‘ascii art’ will turn the Google logo into, you guessed it, ASCII art. (only in the lowercase)

Searching for “recursion” shows “Did you mean: recursion”.

Searching for “anagram” shows “Did you mean: nag a ram”.

And Zimbio says in honor of the World Cup, searching for things like “world cup”, “world cup usa vs england”, or “world cup brazil”, changes the result index to read as “Gooooooooooal!” instead of “Goooooooooogle”.
