Olympic Notebook: Men’s Biathlon

While waiting for the men’s biathlon to start today, we were entertained by a remix of the old standard, New York, New York. The words were adjusted to accommodate our Canadian surroundings, which means we ended up with a folksy rendition that I’ll call Whistler, Whistler.

During the race we were flanked by Swedish fans in the front and Russian ones on the side, making it feel like the heart of the Olympics was beating all around us:
