In the (Simpsons) Papers

Apparently, I’ve been skipping over a major paper in our daily round up of headlines: the Springfield Shopper. But no worry, there’s a great video montage of all the headlines I’ve missed in the Simpsons’ local paper at College Humor.com. Other mastheads that have appeared on the show over the years are included too and the headlines are priceless. And some of them I swear I’ve seen in the Onion. But the real genius seems to lie in the subheadings. Take one of my favorites for example. “Crazed Mom Goes Topless” seems innocuous enough but the kicker is below in smaller print: “Photo Pages 3-28.” Or what about “First Day of Spring” with the subhead, “Ants, Picnickers Reach Last-MInute Accord.” Hilarious.
