Halls Offers Contradictory Flu Advice

‘Tis the season for hand sanitizer, Kleenex and apparently, contradictory advice on how to handle a cold or the flu. With swine flu paranoia at a fever pitch, we’ve been inundated with advice from public health experts on how to handle illness this winter. And it has all sounded similar: take it easy and get plenty of rest. More than once I’ve read suggestions that you’re not doing anyone a favor by coming to work when you’re sick.
But on my subway ride home this morning and I noticed a series of ads for Halls cough drops that veered off the familiar track. The posters feature people with red noses and swollen eyes under banners exclaiming slogans like “push forth, brave soul” and “carry on, good sir.”
