| Man admits to planting bomb in NY | 29 |
| BP says oil spill could drastically worsen | 14 |
| US stocks tumble after Greece bailout | 12 |
News that the suspect in the attempted Times Square car bombing was arrested and admitted his role made the front page of every newspaper in the top 30, except one; the Detroit Free Press devoted most of its front page to memorializing Ernie Harwell, the Hall of Fame icon and decades-long Detroit Tigers’ radio announcer, who died yesterday at age 92. Reports from BP that the oil spill could be ten times worse than previously feared, extending all the way up to North Carolina’s shore, appeared on 14 front pages. Twelve publications ran articles on the US stock market’s tumble yesterday, a result of the bailout package given to debt-ridden Greece.
