The most reported story today, appearing on ten front pages, was news that President Obama has approved offshore drilling on portions of the Atlantic, Alaskan and Gulf of Mexico coastlines. A move to overhaul student loans by cutting out intermediaries was covered in seven newspapers. Six papers reported that house values were up slightly nationwide, though signs of real improvement have yet to be seen. Also appearing on six front pages was coverage of storms and subsequent flooding in the Northeast.
