Every newspaper in the top 30 put excerpts and analysis of President Obama’s State of the Union address on their front pages, making it the most widely reported story of the day. Following closely behind with 27 mentions was Apple’s release of its new tablet device, named the iPad. As concerns over faulty gas pedals grow, so does the Toyota recall, reported 18 publications. Fifteen newspapers printed coverage of the discovery of a teenager in a collapsed building in Haiti. The 17-year-old girl survived 15 days without food or water and is being treated in a hospital.
