The Democrats’ reassessment of their priorities and whether to shift focus away from health care was the top story today, appearing in 27 newspapers. A 5.9 magnitude aftershock hit Haiti but aid continued to flow in, reported 25 publications. Five papers put news of the surrender of a gunman suspected in eight murders in Virginia on their front pages, while the same number reported on a recent study which revealed the pervasiveness of children’s daily exposure to media: nearly eight hours, on average.
