Front Page Tally: January 15
Friday, 15 January 2010 | by Pat's Picks
| Aid for Haiti | 29 |
| Labor unions agree to health care tax | 13 |
| Banks pay bonuses despite tax talk | 12 |
Continuing coverage of the devastation in Haiti as aid workers attempt to help survivors and recover the dead was the top story again today, with every newspaper except one putting photos and reports on their front pages. The lone dissenter, the New York Post, instead ran a story on the deal reached between the federal government and labor unions, which agreed to tax costly ‘Cadillac’ health plans to help fund health reform. That story appeared on 13 front pages. News that banks will not only pay bonuses this year but that they are up by 18 percent, despite Obama’s stern warnings and talk of heavy taxing, made headlines in 12 publications.
