An EPA warning on the extent of damage to the environment via greenhouse gases may pave the way for President Obama to bypass Congress in passing emissions restrictions, reported the front page of 24 of the top 30 US newspapers today. Protests erupted again in Iran where students are still demanding answers about the disputed presidential election that took place in July, said 10 publications in front page articles. Receiving nine headlines was news that liberal Senate Democrats are proposing an expansion of Medicare and Medicaid as an alternative to a public option in an attempt to appease the more moderate party members and get the reforms passed.
