The Senate’s approval of a $1.1 trillion spending bill, which will now be sent to the President for signature, was the top story today with 14 front-page articles. Obama’s admission that his decision to send more troops to Afghanistan had been his most difficult yet was reported by 11 newspapers. An attack on Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, by a man who threw a statuette of a church at him in Milan, put him in the hospital and on 10 front pages.
