The top story today, with 24 front-page articles, was continued coverage of the mining disaster in West Virginia that killed 25. News that broadband providers won a case brought by the FCC that will allow them to control their users’ traffic on certain sites appeared on 17 front pages. Thirteen papers reported on UConn’s second consecutive perfect season, resulting in a NCAA title in the women’s tournament yesterday. And nine newspapers reported on new plans by most airlines to begin charging not only for checked baggage but carry-ons.
