Could We Please Just Call It the 787?

Maybe I’ll get used to it. But “Dreamliner” sounds silly. Now that the Boeing 787 is in regular service, let’s just call it that.
All Nippon Airways made the first 787 flight this week, with a trip from Tokyo to Hong Kong. According to USA Today, passengers were impressed. Admittedly, many of the features of the plane are the things that frequent fliers dream about, like better cabin air, larger windows and seats that don’t recline into the knees of the passenger behind.
But dreamy as they are, let’s just call it the 787.
