Bobbing for Apple Names

Picking up on my complaints about the “New York 1” apple, Asylum NY asked me to suggest other names. Below are my suggestions:

Whipple Apple: “If they insist on a NY1-related name, this has a nice ring to it. George Whipple could hand them out at his red carpet interviews.”

Citiapple: “Would the bank pay for naming rights?”

The Jobs: “Because Steve Jobs insists on approving anything with the Apple name.”

Diamond Delicious: “Presumably, this is a step up from the Golden Delicious.”

The Regis: “Someone with his longevity must be an ‘apple a day’ man.”

Hudson: “I don’t know a lot about where this new apple has been planted. But it must be somewhere close to the Hudson River.”
