I’ve been a little obsessed the past couple of days with the Stupid Fight. It’s a new Twitter analysis tool that pits two users against each other to see who has the dumber followers.

The ranking is a loose analysis of the past 100 @replies.  Followers are assumed by the ranking algorithm to be stupider if they use ALL CAPS or a lot of exclamation marks!!!!  Excessive use of OMG and LOL doesn’t help either.

Yesterday, I was really proud of my results. My followers scored 72 on the Stupid Fight. (For a benchmark, Kim Kardashian’s Stupid score is over 800.) But something has gone wrong today. I’ve moved up into the 300s.  Still better than Glenn Beck (@GlennBeck) and NASA (@NASA) but far worse than scientist David Suzuki (@DavidSuzukiFDN) or prolific tech tweeter Robert Scoble (@scobleizer)
