Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer put me to the test last night—the trivia test, that is—at an event last night. A huge crowd came out for TrivWorks trivia night including Stringer, who offered me a chance at “dual citizenship,” which would grant me the right to travel freely between Brooklyn and Manhattan if I could answer a few questions about the latter.

This made me realize how much I enjoyed watching “The West Wing.” The cast got back together to shoot a video urging people to learn about non-partisan races that will be on the ballot in November.

I met the woman I married in college. And until yesterday, I always thought her name was Dawn.  Until she dropped into Starbucks yesterday.

It’s a big week at NY1. On September 8th, 1992, Time Warner created NY1 to serve a market that was curiously underserved—the biggest city in the country. This week, we’re celebrating 20 years on air.

Today’s Alter Ego comes from Samantha. She writes: “At the Starbucks downstairs from my office, they seem to remember all of the regulars’ names except mine.  That was made clear to me yesterday when my co-worker Elizabeth and I went down for an afternoon coffee break.”

Michael Strahan made his debut this morning as Kelly Ripa’s co-host on Live!, a year and a half after Regis Philbin announced his plan to retire. When I co-hosted the show in the spring, the New York media graciously adopted me as a local favorite and presented the Live! gig as my “dream job.”

Some people go to the US Open for the Tennis. And some, apparently, just go for the Honey Deuce. Created as the signature drink for the 2007 tournament, the grown-up vodka lemonade has been an Open staple ever since—despite the $14 price tag.
